My Big Goal

At first my goal was to raise both a first and second generation of butterflies.

As the project became bigger, I realized I wanted to be helpful and began plans for a butterfly garden in my backyard. 

​

This experience has shown me how difficult it is for the creatures of our environment to thrive.  This summer is a perfect time to try a "low waste summer". My family and I are going to find ways to lessen our impact on our environment. Look for the  tab onto this website to find out more

You can help our environment in many ways! I am part of 2 great projects!
 
Inaturalist. It is a great project documenting the amazing variations of life in our world! I have had a few of my observations become Research Grade! Which means that Scientists use them in their research!

For 4 years I have been part of the Massachusetts Audubon Firefly Watch. Every summer I observe the fireflies in my area, take note on specific behaviors and record them on the Mass. Audubon site! It is cool to know that my observations are helping researchers from Tufts University!
